How a club profile gets built

Every profile starts from a club's own published material — its website, fee schedules, league affiliations, tryout notices — gathered by an automated crawler that respects each site's robots.txt and identifies itself honestly rather than posing as a browser. Our most recent full research pass worked through 739 sourced findings across 24 clubs, and every fact on a profile links back to the page it came from in that profile's "Sources" panel.

Crawled facts never reach the public site automatically. They land in an internal review queue first, and a person decides what, if anything, gets published. Cost, travel, competition, and fit ratings specifically are never set by the crawler — those are editorial judgments a person makes only when a club's own published material actually supports a number. What we won't do

We won't publish a rating we can't point to a source for — a club with no published fee shows no cost rating rather than an invented one. We won't treat a club's own marketing language as evidence of a competitive tier it doesn't actually name. And we won't quietly apply a correction: every submitted fix and every crawled fact still passes through a human review step before it changes what a family sees.

How the site supports itself

The site runs on a small number of manually placed ads (through Google AdSense) rather than any fee from clubs or families. Ad placement is fixed in the page layout and has no connection to how any club is rated or ranked — see our privacy policy for the full detail on what that means for your data.
