Your family’s preferences
The club finder processes your answers in your browser. It asks for no child’s name, birth date or precise home address. Answers stay in tab memory and clear on reload; they are not submitted to us. If you use the separate ZIP lookup endpoint, the ZIP is sent to our server and Zippopotam.us, which supplies approximate coordinates. The current finder uses city text instead and does not call this endpoint.
Shortlist and device storage
Selected club IDs are stored in localStorage under soccer-club-finder:selected-compare-clubs so your shortlist survives a reload on the same browser. Clear the shortlist or browser storage to remove them. Storage may be unavailable in private or restricted browsers. Theme choice uses scf-theme. A previous version’s assistant may have stored scf-assistant-nudge; the current interface no longer uses the assistant. These are functional preferences, not analytics identifiers.
Contact, corrections and reviews
The contact and correction forms open your email application with a draft to hello@potentell.com. You must send it. They also attempt to save a copy of the submitted details in Firebase/Firestore for review. The API accepts a limited set of message fields and limits string length. Its burst limiter temporarily holds an IP address in server memory; it does not write that IP into the feedback record. If configured, an ntfy.sh topic receives a notification about a saved submission. Email is processed by your and our email providers.
Messages and moderation records are retained until the operator deletes them; there is no automatic deletion schedule. Email us to request access, correction or deletion and identify the submission. Do not include children’s private information. Parent review submissions are sent to the server for moderation and stored in Firestore; approved review content may be public. Do not include private contact details in review text.
Advertising and consent
Google AdSense is the intended revenue source. Advertising is disabled by default in this release configuration. If enabled, only complete parent guide articles can request a manually placed ad after the content. Google Funding Choices consent and privacy messaging scripts load across the site so choices can be offered; these requests themselves contact Google. Google may receive IP address, browser and page information. When ads are enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar storage for ad delivery, measurement and personalization, subject to applicable consent settings.
Where available, use “Your privacy choices” in the footer to reopen Google’s consent controls. The link appears only when the Google function is available. If it is unavailable or blocked, you can also manage Google preferences at My Ad Center and manage cookies in your browser. We do not claim that the presence of a tag proves a regional consent message is correctly configured.
When your browser sends Global Privacy Control, our initialization requests non-personalized ads. This does not block all cookies or replace consent. Advertising cookies may constitute a sale or sharing under some US state laws. We do not sell shortlist data or finder answers. Google’s processing is described in how Google uses information from partner sites.
Hosting and other services
Vercel hosts the site and may process request logs, IP addresses and browser information for delivery and security. Google Firebase provides database storage and administrator authentication. Club source links and external registration pages have their own privacy policies. We do not embed those registration forms.
No visitor analytics
We do not install Google Analytics, Vercel Analytics or a separate visitor tracking pixel. Operational hosting logs and Google advertising or consent processing are distinct from that statement. We do not offer visitor accounts or use your finder answers for marketing.
